EDWARDS AND OBAMA

This is the first time I have not had a very strong feeling for one of the candidates. I think, for me, after enduring the last eight years, I am enthusiastic about all of them. I do not, however, feel positive about Clinton. She is completely to divisive and will only keep the country divided as it is now. I think having a woman president is not the issue here...too many people just do not like the Clinton name. For me, narrowing the division and bringing back a sense of enthusiasm for our country and our leadership is one of the most important issues on the table. Above the greatest hits of political topics, bringing a sense of integrity back to the White House would make the top 5 for me. I have been utterly confused in the last 8 years about where we are going. I think it is time for a spearhead.

I believe that Obama and Edwards both possess the qualities to narrow this division. For this reason I am liking both of them and for now I dont think I really care who takes the Caucus.

I think both men would be fine leaders.

Have you all heard about this Clinton campaign hostage situation in New Hampshire? WTF!

Barack Obama

Barack Obama has learned how to advance and idea and mediate with people who dont agree. I think a rare quality these days. His rise in Illinois politics speaks to his multiple diplomatic skills and the shear weight of his talent and intellect. Light weights get eaten alive here. So yeah, I'm a big fan of his.

Who are you supporting?

People ask me this all the time, and for once, I feel pretty undecided.  I was leaning Edwards, and the Obama people are starting to sway me.  I like what Kucinich stands for, but I don't really feel the confidence in him that I would in the two aforementioned.

Let's start this dialog somehow...

Who do y'all like?  Why?

Dec 10 - CSPAN bus

Want to spout off about some of this stuff to the newsmedia?

CSPAN will have their big caucus bus by Lake Laverne on Monday, Dec 10 from 1:30-4:00, and they want to interview faculty, students, young voters, and whoever else wants to say something about the caucuses.

Try to sound smart.

Can we put the caucus in the Caucasus?

This caucus photo opp makes me nostalgic for crappy breakfast at the Hamburg Inn (home of the pie shake).

WELCOME

Hello Friends,

This blog was created to share our thoughts on the current political climate leading up to the
Iowa Caucus, and maybe even beyond. The reason I like this time so much is the Caucus is a pure thing, I think, and politics are completely fascinating. So, from one politcal junky to another, this is a forum to discuss the candidates as we see them. As we believe in them.

Many of you are elsewhere and cannot participate in the Iowa Caucus. This doesn't mean that your enthusiasm and voice should not be heard. I know some of you are frustrated and wish they could be here. So let's discuss these candidates and create a dialogue about the issues we are hearing so much about.

If you know of anyone interested in political discourse send me their emails and I will add them as a contributor.

Not sure how it will work, but we are amongst friends so I am sure we will figure something out.
